A Girls Haven.... The Clothes Show 2013

In December this year, the NEC in Birmingham held its yearly main event, "The Clothes Show Live", which featured many high street retailers, and independent brands as well as the main feature being the catwalk show itself. Having waited all year round for the tickets to come on sale, me and my friend had finally booked the show, only then to see an added event on the day was the television series "Take Me Out". As you can imagine we were rather excited and booked this straight away too, (also giving us an added discount for multiple tickets for both events),  however we wasn't quick enough to have the option of the Vip title added to the tickets. This was a valid lesson learnt for the next visit, is to book as early as possible!

Now onto the event itself..... Inside the NEC its filled with stalls upon stalls filled with every type of clothing you can imagine, from the latest fashion trends to vintage one off pieces. The set out is quite clear with the main hall being in two parts, one for clothing and one for beauty. If you have never been to a Clothes Show event before then you must not expect a fashion paradise but merely a market stall set out with an H&M vibe. You have to be willing to look through the clothes to find a bargain, and bargains can definitely be had here!
Another of the main attractions to this event is that celebrity endorsed products are sold, and at a fraction of the normal retail selling price. This year the main celebrities was from the popular tv series Made In Chelsea and The Only Was Is Essex as well Cann associates who represent Amy Childs, Peter Andre and Gemma Collins. Be warned, queuing nicely isn't an option , as there are very excitable young teens all wanting a piece of celebrity to have their picture taken with to add to their facebook, instragram and twitter feed. But it isn't just the fans who are ruthless but also the celebrities themselves, who are very naughty in letting you only have that invaluable fifteen seconds with them, if you have purchased one of their products. So the actual cost of a fifteen second hi and one photo opportunity, where you are really hoping you are looking your best and that the photographer has caught you best side can start from £20 upwards. This becomes very expensive, if like me you love reality shows and really would love that fifteen seconds of that one celeb promising to be your friend on facebook, but then dashing your dreams when you over hear them promise to the other three hundred in the queue.
All in all its a great day out to be had with friends, a well recommended trip for every girl who loves fashion.

Here are just a couple of pictures from the event!
