Spring is finally coming and what better way to celebrate than getting a new outfit! I'm absolutely loving the pastel colours for this season, as I love the nude tones mixed with the floral prints to create a fresh girly look!  As much as I personally love the girly look, I always like to add a leather jacket to my outfit to  give it a more edgier vibe!
The gorgeous skirt is from River Island is a season must have, as they have got the pattern and colours literally from the catwalks! I chose the white tshirt from Topshop as this design can be seen on celebrities everywhere and is a complete bargain at £22! I personally would buy the top a size smaller so it can be tucked into the skirt to give a great silhouette! The pink lipstick and flower ring are just the right amount of finishing touches this outfit needs! Let the skirt do all the talking!

Primark...... Oh how I love thee

I have recently been spending a lot of time and money in the good old store that is Primark. I seem to go through stages where I can buy the whole store to hardly buying a thing from there! But this season they seem to hit every nail on every fashionistas head with all their goodies!

So this is what was in my bag in just one shop, and they were all complete bargains!!!!

The first dress I found was this skater style denim dress, I absolutely love the style of the dress as I think they are easy to wear with leggings for an everyday casual look. The denim is very soft and not stiff at all unlike some dresses you find in this material, however it does crease very easily. This dress cost £12.00 which I think you would agree is a bargain price.

This was the second dress I came across whilst browsing the store, and my eye immediately drew to the big bold flower print and fuchsia pink colour! I had seen similar dresses in river island and new look for around £25-£30, this dress was £8, another great find!

My final dress that ended up in my shopping basket was this one which came from the sale rail, and cost me £3!!!! No joke, £3! I couldn't believe it! And even better when I tried it on, it fit perfectly and looked great with my black leather cut out boots!

On the £3 hunt I also found this little polka dot plastic watch, which I couldn't resist and stands out perfectly on my wrist when wearing it!

I love putting pretty things in my hair and these hair clips are perfect for a quick up do!
£1.50 for the two!

Make up bags are also another item that I often pick up, as they are such a good price in Primark that I can always find stuff at home to fill them with! This is quite a large one, so more of a wash bag really but is really useful for those weekends away! This London print bag was £4!

Primark have a great selection of jewellery at fabulous prices, this is the first necklace I brought, which is quite a small necklace compared to the bigger statement ones I have been wearing recently, but I liked the gold and pink combination together! Again this necklace was £3!

This is the second of the necklaces, and I think the grey rope style really compliments the silver hoops with the pink diamantes perfectly, and at a cost of £3, this will definitely glam up any outfit!

The last of my purchases was this moisturising lip gloss crayon, in a soft pink colour! It doesnt have a code so I cant give you the exact colour. This lip gloss crayon is £1.50!

Whats in your Primark shopping bag recently?

A Girls Haven.... The Clothes Show 2013

In December this year, the NEC in Birmingham held its yearly main event, "The Clothes Show Live", which featured many high street retailers, and independent brands as well as the main feature being the catwalk show itself. Having waited all year round for the tickets to come on sale, me and my friend had finally booked the show, only then to see an added event on the day was the television series "Take Me Out". As you can imagine we were rather excited and booked this straight away too, (also giving us an added discount for multiple tickets for both events),  however we wasn't quick enough to have the option of the Vip title added to the tickets. This was a valid lesson learnt for the next visit, is to book as early as possible!

Now onto the event itself..... Inside the NEC its filled with stalls upon stalls filled with every type of clothing you can imagine, from the latest fashion trends to vintage one off pieces. The set out is quite clear with the main hall being in two parts, one for clothing and one for beauty. If you have never been to a Clothes Show event before then you must not expect a fashion paradise but merely a market stall set out with an H&M vibe. You have to be willing to look through the clothes to find a bargain, and bargains can definitely be had here!
Another of the main attractions to this event is that celebrity endorsed products are sold, and at a fraction of the normal retail selling price. This year the main celebrities was from the popular tv series Made In Chelsea and The Only Was Is Essex as well Cann associates who represent Amy Childs, Peter Andre and Gemma Collins. Be warned, queuing nicely isn't an option , as there are very excitable young teens all wanting a piece of celebrity to have their picture taken with to add to their facebook, instragram and twitter feed. But it isn't just the fans who are ruthless but also the celebrities themselves, who are very naughty in letting you only have that invaluable fifteen seconds with them, if you have purchased one of their products. So the actual cost of a fifteen second hi and one photo opportunity, where you are really hoping you are looking your best and that the photographer has caught you best side can start from £20 upwards. This becomes very expensive, if like me you love reality shows and really would love that fifteen seconds of that one celeb promising to be your friend on facebook, but then dashing your dreams when you over hear them promise to the other three hundred in the queue.
All in all its a great day out to be had with friends, a well recommended trip for every girl who loves fashion.

Here are just a couple of pictures from the event!

Product Review... Sallys GlitzGlam

One of my favourite new hair pieces is from the fabulous Sallys GlitzGlam, ( www.sallysglitzglam.co.uk ) which I was introduced to by one of my friends. The ever so popular new brand is loved by celebrities with having a VIP By Vicky Patterson range, and featuring Frankie Essex and Chloe Simms beauty ranges.
Here are my latest purchases from Sallys GlitzGlam range with before and after pics to show the difference.

This is my normal every day hair to give an idea how much effect the hair pieces have. I have naturally blonde hair which is rather dark with dip-dyed ends, that is very fine.

Here im wearing the Double Volume Straight Instant Weave hair peace, and you can clearly see the dramatic difference in volume the piece gives. I love this piece, although you do have to be aware of the fact that this piece sits on top of your natural hair and you style the sides around the frame of your face to blend synthetic hair with natural hair. I love this piece also due to you don't have to do loads of backcombing like you do with clip in extensions or worrying about clips showing. You simply clip on and your good to go!
The cost of the hair piece is £39.99 and has a weight of 140.00 grams, so is a thick and full weave. The colour that matched to my hair is 18-22 caramel blonde. If you are unsure of what colour to choose, then you can send in a picture of your hair and the team will advise you which colour will suit your natural hair best.

My other hair piece I purchased was from Sallys GlitzGlam part of the VipHair By Vicky Pattison range, and is the Glamour Curl piece. This is literally a one piece strip that is applied using the clips attached. You have to section your hair from temple to temple and then clip in the piece with your natural hair just laying over the top to hide the join of the weave. This weave was literally just put in my hair with no actual curling of my naural hair at all, and I think you would agree with me that the piece looks like my own hair! The cost of this hair piece is £24.99 and has a weight of 95.00 grams.

I really love these hair pieces and cant recommend them enough! Let me know your thoughts!!!

My Outfit For Today

I love wearing different looks everyday and today was no different! As the weather is still rather cold I like to layer my clothes to change the appearance of them. So heres my outfit for today!

I chose this very comfy denim dress from Topshop with a Fred Perry tartan shirt and Topshop atom boots. These are all in stores at the moment so are current season stock, although the Fred Perry shirt I pinched from my brothers wardrobe, but this is from the mens section online, but I love the print so much I just couldn't resist! I usually wear a statement necklace, but instead opted for a gold chain bracelet from Freedom at Topshop instead!

Whats your winter wardrobe style?

Welcome to my blog!!!!!

Heyyyyy!
This is my very first blog post and I'm so excited to be finally writing this!
My name is Vicki and I'm 27 years old and have been reading blogs on things such as fashion, beauty, travel and parenting for the past two years and I have enjoyed reading blogs so much I felt it was the right time to finally sit down and do one myself.
I have worked in retail for the past eleven years and have seen many trends come and go and this is my opportunity to share my thoughts on what I like to purchase from the high street! So that is what my blog is all about The High Street!
I had a baby two years ago and I have finally found my sense of style and love for clothes again. Although my style changes day to day, depending on mood, weather etc, i do like to follow the latest trends but also to use my own interpretation to create a look!
Hope you enjoy reading my posts and I look forward to your comments!

Romance is upon us!

It's that time of year again where retailers cash in on people's relationship status's! Whether you are dating someone, married to someone or merely like someone, February the 14th is that one day a year where you actually have to admit your feelings! Retailers love this time of year as sales boost after the drab month of January sales where people are left penniless due to Xmas. Now February begins and Cupid comes out to play, meaning new outfits for both sexes and an unknown amount spent on peoples loved ones on expensive and most of the time unnecessary gifts! The price of roses doubles and lingerie sales rocket,  however negative I may be sounding I too, like many other girls in a relationship, wait for this day to come to see how much notice my hints he has really taken on board!
Good luck people in getting what you desired for, for this valentines day! Here's some of my favourite pieces from the high street for the big day itself!
